 In the early 1990's, Denise Spencer arrived in Massachusetts to pursue her studies at Boston University. Denise had always possessed a bohemian spirit and thrived on art, travel and adventure, so it was only natural that she would fall head over heels in love with a Turkish boy. After several years spent studying and working, Denise followed her heart, and the Turkish boy, and moved to Istanbul where she spent seven years living and working immersed in the rich beauty, history and culture of Turkey.
While pursuing a career in multimedia and working her way to Director of Web Development at Comnet A.S., the first corporate internet service provider in Turkey, Denise also explored the many treasures of Istanbul. She cultivated and refined her artistic side and passion for design, fashion and accessories; in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, she formed invaluable friendships with many craftspeople and merchants.
Today Denise is founder and owner of Ichiche, through which she realizes her long term dream to build a business based on her passion for creating the sublime and sharing a unique and beautifully crafted line of jewelry and accessories from Turkey with others. Denise and her husband continue to split their time between New York and Istanbul where Denise is also an avid cook, yoga practitioner and animal lover.
